Teen mental health in the United States is in a state of emergency, with alarming statistics underscoring the severity of the issue. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), around 13% of American adolescents aged 12 to 17 experience a major depressive episode each year, marking a troubling increase over recent years. Concurrently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports a staggering 47% rise in suicide rates among teenagers over the past two decades. These numbers paint a stark reality of the challenges faced by today's youth.
This is why Inner Journey is dedicated to supporting Teen Mental Health. Inner Journey seeks to partner with organizations, school districts and parent-teacher associations to spread mental health awareness in high schools and provide tools to support teen well-being.
